St. Judes Walk

Yesterday it was a great walk for the hospital that I first heard about when I was about 6 years old. I recall my Papa Steve telling me about the place and how he loved Danny Thomas the hospitals founder. It is funny how you recall lil bits of when you were lil. We walked and got to write who we were grateful for that has been involved with any kind of cancer and I write TJ. A lil boy who I met 9 years ago. He was on my bus and in a class I was an aide for. He is the ultimate fighter. This boy has had his highs and lows since being diagnosed 10 years ago. He is now 11. Yes since he was about 18 months old he has lived with his inoperable tumors. He gets frequent treatment in Boston and is a star on his hockey team despite his frequent bouts with fatigue. He luvs life, luvs his new puppy...his last dog got hit by a car and he was so sad about that. He just has this omph to live life to the fullest. Once about 4 years ago when he was not doing well I signed up to make a meal for the family who were finding it really hard goin back and forth to Boston and he said it was the best baked ziti and meatballs ever. It was great to be able to make him food and bring a bear for him. I so appreciate that his family is so grateful to the community for every lil thing they do. We just want to make it as easy as possible for them. So to TJ......your zest and fight are an inspration xoxoxo God Bless you TJ

11-22

11/22 the day that God sent you.......
today is the day you were born back in '67....your little soul came down from Heaven.
I am so greatful for your birth because 22 years later we would meet and have our lives entwine. Our luv would be so devine.
I am blessed every day with the way......the way you luv me, the way you luv others, the way you give of your all when you do things, the way you are so loyal, the way you make my world a better place with unconditional luv and grace.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday doesn't begin to say just how much I am greatful for this day!
Happy 42nd birthday to my one and only tru love.....I look at you and still see that young 22 year old that melted my heart the first time you touched my arm, and put on that Raftery charm. xoxoxoxo I luv you more today than yesterday but not as much as tommorow.

Happy Birthday Michael xoxoxoxo

Enjoyin the time at Sol Bean Cafe

Two days in a row I got to enjoy time at the BEAN....lol with two great gals. Luv that I have a place like this to go to...like my very own Healthy kind of Cheers lol where everybody knows your name. I love also that they know exactly how to make my acia drink....red crimson tea, acai berries, strawberries and bee pollen/ a 2oz shot of wheatgrass and a flax bar half then and half for the road. I have upped my wg shot from one oz to 2 and it does make a hugh differnce. It is not easy to get the 2 oz shot down but a wiggle and a deep breath makes it down the hatch! Luv that place.

A Rich Life

The tribute to a man Dennis Rich made my heart and many others melt the other night. I am so gald to have been able to see this. It was put together with much love and dedication to him. God Bless the Rich family and the loves of his life that will always hold him dear in their hearts.

Paula, her sister, Sky:her daughter and neice came back...

Paula Cole was a BABW guest again this week. She is at her Massachusetts home for the rest of the year until next spring when her long awaited new album is released. She is a centered, calming person. Has the love and sparkle in her eye for her "Sky", daughter who is a smart lil one that has a personality as big as a bear hug. That girl seems to know what she wants and has tons of positive energy. At one point while waitin for the cousin Sarah to finish with her mom Paula and Sky went to "burn off some energy" as Paula called it. lol Sky pointed out that her grandmas name is Stephanie...she likes that name so she chose it for her very eclectic dressed bear. Her sister was an older version of her and you could so tell they are sisters. She said she was glad to see me and loves when I build bears for Sky. It was a very slow day at the Bear Barn and she got to stay and go about her day at the quiet of the NS Mall. Said they were going to catch a bite at Au Bon Pain, the only FC place that I now frequent b/c of the more natural healthy choices. Like the only place that has anything remotely non fast food type. She is far from a presumptuous star type, I swear I get more snobs that are nobodys there. She has this natural vibe and carin sparkle in her eye. I really like when they come in and have a bearific time.

Let the sun shine bright

Oh so nice to see u Mr. Sun......I swear Mother Nature may be getting a swift kick in the ars...lol lol I wish I could do it..LOL no I would sit and reason with the old gal and be like come on....give us a break...LOL LOL I only wish,
I do have a new attitude towards the days that are gray or crappy in my mind. I may not be able to control the weather but I cna control how the weather affects me. In using that skill I act better and live better through it. I still have every right to HATE the weather when it is not up to my par...lol but I will indeed continue to be the one who CHOOSES to live my life to the fullest and not let it get to me. SO blah to you weather...and yay to me!

~food~

We need food like fuel to function. I have realized that I reestablished this house not just me. Here WE NOW NEVER eat out of boardem. Even though the boys were never heavey I so know at times they ate stuff just to eat something and not b/c they were hungry. I so see a change in Ryan th emost but also in Stephen too. He is a tall buff kid and does indeed need a lot of calories to sustain his height and muscle mass don't get me wrong but in the past months I have seen the both of them including Michael eat so much less. I guess when good food is there for the taking better choices are made. I just needed to put out there that the change was not only for mine but the entire houses. I feel wonderful that I could be the one to incorporate such a great thing for them. Eat to live don't live to eat!

TODAY Show

While getting dressed this morn I saw a segment on the TODAY Show how siblings, long lost reunited with eachother. Some did not even know of eachother. It makes me ponder while I go about my days of all these 38 years what MY Siblings are doing day to day. My boilogical DNA of the male side met with me for about 15 mins of my life formally and that went to crap fast since I was basiclly asked the question "what would it take (money, how much) to make you stay quiet so you don't "hurt" my kids" Well aint that special....I guess YOUR KIDS feelings were much more importnat than my feelings are and money may keep me shut. WELL I was never THAT person. It is funny when I talk to Michael about it then and now I saw in a funny ironic way ...SHOULD OF JUST TOOK A STACK O CASH and kicked it to em....Well like I said never was that person. Don;t think CASH will pay me off. I would rather be poor in a guttah than take mercy money to be paid off to MAKE IT GO AWAY! I MADE something of me money free of it being handed to me and I AM PROUD as all HELL of the person I AM TODAY! I do however think it to be wrong and a disadvantage that there are two humans out there that may/may not know of me and I of them. I know of them they exsist but know not much about them. Seeing the segmnt. on the show made emotions/feelings/questions pop up about these 2 said people. I live well and go about my days without knowing but it would be nice to know. It could/could not add a differnt dinamic to me. So life goes on with or wothout you....cleshe t osay the least.

Memory Walk

It was great to see the support out there today for this aweful disease. It was a walk in the rain but no worries a lil rain won't hurt anyone. Micheals Nana Martha had it and now Nana T has progressed with it and I hold this cause near and dear to my heart. I like the saying find the cause, find the cure. Really it is an obscure disease that attacks the brain in a way that it is like being in another time and place. I hope that the future holds answers and this is why we walk and raise money with awareness. New Hampshire was THE PLACE to be to really see and honor those who live with it and the families who have to see their loved ones suffer. Please keep in your hearts and prayers the loved ones...Luv u more than u will know my awesome Nana T.

Hockey starts TODAY!

Hockey time again...get ut the jacket b/c I'm goin to a rink

I'm dreaming of another get a way with you.....

So our NYC/LI trip was awesome back in Aug. and we so keep saying can;t wait to go away with each other again. We have the perfect opportunity, NY again...not the city...Buffalo....I will be walking the Obesity Awareness Walk in October in NY and we are making a weekend alone of it. Michael will also be walking. There is a Boston one but that same weekend I have the Leannes Dream Walk and will be walking that one with MIL in memory of Leanne for her charity. I HAVE to walk the Obesity one to be apart and raise awareness of better health through eating better and exercising the body, mind and spirit. I started my journey to better health on April 29, 08 and will always continue to stay on track and make the best health choices I can for better health. I am passionate about this and will drive 3 hours to participate in something I care deeply about. I did this for health reasons and not vanity and want it known that others can get on a more healthy track for living and moving to the level of movement that a person is at at the weight they are at. Little by little more movement comes with less weight to carry around. I am down 175 lbs and may loose 10 more. My programs nutritionist, doctor and myself are working on seeing how my body adjusts to the weight it is now at...To them I AM AT GOAL! I remember when I had sooo much to loose and now it is like I am THERE> It is what I do with it that matters. I am toning and that may lead to more lbs of muscle mass and I am fine with that, it is not about the number on the scale but about how healthy I feel and the ability to move and be active. If my last ten comes off great. If they never come off so be it b/c I know that my body has never seen what it is at now in at least 27 years. So back to our get away. So lookin forward to another fun filled time with just me and my luv. I swear it feels like we are newlyweds still. To be luved is devine. He stood by me through thick and thin...literaly. lol and I feel great to have that special bond with my best friend/lover/husband who I can share these times with and grow old together as we watch our offspring go into pre adulthood. It is sooo nice having US time. xoxoxoxo

Failure to plan is planning to fail...wise words of the head nurse of the Heart & Wellness Program that also went through the program 6 years ago. She said she could not be a hypocrite being a cardio nurse and telling people to loose weight when she herself had to loose weight. That moto is how I live many aspects of my life.

Water Country...had some fun!

Luv this place......
We have not missed a year since we started dating in 1990. We went to out first official alone date there. I was happy to go on all the slides and fit more than ampally. Luved being with the nephews b/c it is like having lil ones again. Uncle Michael is so fun throwing them over and over just like when our guys were that age. Then Auntie is known to make them swim like dolphines and spin them around until we fall in the water and splash. That places does not seem as big at is was. It used to be a chore to walk from one end of the park to the next but NOT THIS TIME! My walkin legs took me back and forth many times without fail and I am still so excited to feel like I FIT! I took a double tak eof myself when I went in the restroom passing the mirror. I was like wow thats IS me. You still see yourself as you once were and it does take a bit of time to adjust and really believe what others see. It is still a work in progress. The journey continues...it goes on and on and never ends...

music and the bike

Yesterday at the gym after walking with Paula I did 5 miles on the bike! Before I never had th enotion that music makes u "kick it up" but hell yeah it does! I went the 5 miles in about 3 mins less than I do without the music. Every time the refrain came on and it was a kicker of a song I blasted. At Heart and Wellness they always wanted us to do "bump ups" to trick the body. Well bump ups were all over that yesterday. Down 1.5 lbs from the other day. I am being naughty and weighin in everyday since the 3 day. I was good an dlistened to H & W and only would weigh in once every other week. Well I have broken that rule..GASP! Stephie a rule breaker LOL
I was up a lb but I am sure b/c of the gosh aweful periods that I still have to have UGH, why can't we turn off a switch when we are done with the need of that? So I did not get frustrated I know weight goes up and down with weather and fluid. But is was really nice to see the 1.5 lbs loss. I vow to stop going on the scale when we leave for The Hamptons on Thurday morn. Unless I pack the scale...LOL LOL ....That would be funny. So the reason for the post!!!! I did see the kick up of music while pushin the legs to the limit yesterday...I did weights after and a long stretch at the gym ..picked Stephen up from work then while watching Big Brother and txting about it while watching I could not sit still on the sofa so I was doing ab work while it was on......It is good in a way to not sit still RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS!

I want to be 65% gone by the appointment I have late October with the Program. Please do not take that as greed. I am very happy at where I am and will maintain and loose the other 15% or so slow and steadly. It is like a half off sale..lol Later I will post 3 day pics and stories....till then I have to take the 50% less of me to the showers...xoxoxo Have a bearific day!

Upcoming walks, need a bucket o cash!

9-12 9-26 10-4 10-18
These are the next four walks I will be apart of coming this fall. The one for Nana T and the others who suffer from Alzheimer's really touched my heart when I saw the ad. The Light the Night walk one has been done by Michael, myself and the boys in the past at Lake Q in Wakefield. Also the Strides Walk in the past too. Last year I could not do the walk but the 2 gals from my church came by to see me and took a swish balloon to me with flowers when then were on their way to the walk. That was so sweet. I was sad that I could not do it since we have all done that walk together the past 5 years. Well this year I am there. As for the walk for obesity, A gal and I from the Health and Wellness program tried to organize a Salem Ma walk for NSMC but this year it will not happen, too much red tape, I will do it in Lowell. If only a nice leprechaun at the end of the rainbow could leave me a bucket o cash to have lots o money to donate. lol lol Off to dream land to dream about walkin'n that lil guy with a bucket o cash lol lol , have a great night...xoxoxo Stephie
====================================================================================
Funny I wake up this morn have a big glass of water and go to the computer AND what to my delight do I see coming through the slider is a rainbow on my keyboard....on to the cabnits....ok so lil man where is the bucket o cash? it was sooo pretty minus the bucket

RIP Joe T

This week my husband got word that a long time friend of his passed away. He has been sick for many years with cystic fibrosis and had a lung transplant about 5 years ago. Joe NEVER complained. He was a doll. Loved life and loved his nieces and nephew. Summers long ago we would walk Hampton Beach with "the crowd" of Michael's hs/college smart friends. A scientist an engineer, the money men bankers/accounting majors and Joe the do all for others guy. At one time he was a mechanic but his lung issue put an end to that. He would drive with his dad in the big box truck to keep him company on his delivery route all over Boston. He knew Boston like the back of his hand. We had good times those summer about 20 years ago. He loved my jello mold. I would make it for backward BBQs at their old place on the conor of St. Andrews and St. Edwards Rd. I hate jello but the mold thing just had to be bought and the fancy fruit made it look look nice. I think he was the only nice guy that would eat it. Joe lived a life of family and friend filled days. The disease he had is known to take lives rather young. To us he is a young 46. So many others do not live past 20 with that disease. So to Joe Tirrusa ....love to you up in Heaven, you have always been an Earth Angel now you are in Peace with our Maker. xoxoxo Love you friend Michaeles wife. he always called Michael Michaele'

The Climb

I do not like this singer but I love the words to this song. It applies to many things of my journey. I really see that it is not the end but the journey that matters. Live every moment, be in the moment. Laugh and love with all your heart, today is a gift not a right!

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith,

The song this year for the 3 Day

I Was Here lyrics

You will notice me
I'll be leavin' my mark, like initials carved in an old oak tree
you wait and see
maybe I'll write like Twain wrote
maybe I'll paint like Van Gough,
cure the common cold
i don't know but I'm ready to start cuz i know in my heart

I wanna do something that matters
say something different
something that sets the whole world on it's ear
i wanna do somethin better, with the time i've been given
and i wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
and leave nothin less that something that says i was here

I will prove you wrong
if you think im all talk, your in for a shock
cuz this streams too strong, and before too long
maybe i'll compose symphonies
maybe i'll fight for world peace
cuz i know it's my destiny to leave more that a trace of myself in this
place

I wanna do something that matters
say something different
something that sets the whole world on it's ear
i wanna do somethin better, with the time i've been given
and i wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
and leave nothin less that something that says i was here

And i know that i, i will do more than just pass through this life
i'll leave nothin less that somethin that says i was here, i was here, i
was here, i was here

Wanna do somethin that matters
somethin that says i was here
wanna do somethin that matters
somethin that says i was here, i was here

This years walk dedicated to a Past Pink Angel

The Pink Angels

Welcome to the team of The Pink Angels. We began as a team back in 2005 and never imagined that our journey would take us to where we are today. This will be our fifth year of walking together as a team and our individual stories of why we are here would fill a book!!
This year we are dedicating our walk to Chrissy Clawson Audibert. She lost her battle to breast cancer at the age of 33 in February 2009. Although she had been too sick to join in the walk, she was there for us in Opening and Closing ceremonies and in her participation in many of The Pink Angel Fundraisers. Our hearts go out to her husband of 4 years, Matt, her parents, and her brother and sister-in-law Marcie Clawson.
Our hearts are also broken this year by the sudden death of teammate Tricia Ciccarelli. Words cannot decribe how much she was loved by all of us. She was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. Tricia will be in our hearts as we partake in this year's walk. We are blessed to have known this beautiful angel as she joined us for the past 3 years. We have truly become one in this quest in finding a cure for breast cancer. All of us have been affected in some way, whether it be ourselves, our Mothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, daughters, grandmothers or friends. Every diagnosis that we hear about is one too many. Too many women and men are still receiving that diagnosis that will change their lives forever. " Everyone deserves a lifetime" We are committed to that goal. We will continue walking no matter how long that takes. To date we have raised $930,000 in four years and have walked in Boston, Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington DC. This year many of us are walking in Boston as well as Washington. Hopefully we can reach other states. This will be the year that our MILLION dollar goal is met, but that will not be enough!! All are welcome to join our team or support us in any way you can!!
We thank you and our children thank you. We WILL accomplish much together so please be as generous as you can. As a walker, this could be a life altering journey. We would Love to have you on board with us.

Wishing Normie a Happy 40th.....we have had many years/summers shared as children. I recall one b-day we sat on her back porch and had lemonaide and cupcakes. I would alway forget the date. It would be the day of her b-day and we would be out and I would then be like OMG (back then we never did OMG, but I am sure it was somewhat like that lol) and say oh it's your birthday. So happy happy year and many more to come Normie...

This post was one I made Jan 2, 09/the day I made the commitment to walk the 3Day...6 months later and WOW! I have grow and shrunk at the same time. My knowlege of BC has grown, also my awarness. My waiseline has shrunk. In March I was doing 5 mile training walk....I recall the first one in knee deep snow(Jan), I kid you not. I was like these people are really dedicated. So I now can do 5 miles without a doubt for an add on after walking 15-18.....We have worked our way up and WILL be walking 60 miles in less than a month. So excited..

You Have a Sanguine Temperament

You are an optimistic person who is easily content.

You enjoy casual, light tasks - never wanting to delve too deep into anything.

A bit fickle, it's easy for you to change plans or paths when presented with something better.

You enjoy all of the great things life has to offer - food, friends, and fun.

A great talker, you can keep the conversation going for hours.

You are optimistic and sure of your success. If you fail, you don't worry about it too much.

At your worst, you are vain. You are obsessed with your own attractiveness.

A horrible flirt, you tend to jump into love affairs and relationship drama easily.

You're very jealous - which just magnifies the craziness around you.
