Opps there goes another rubber tree plant!

A green thumb I have not..........I am a KILLER of plants. I do not do this on purpose but I seem to have a hugh problem with keeping plants alive. Two plus years ago when my mother passed away the people that I worked with at the school sent us a really healthy beautiful plant, as a matter of fact two plants were sent one from the school and one from the bus company. well thank Heavens they are both alive and thriving amazing enough. I counted four pots on the back steps of plants that have lost their spunk due to my lack of a green thumb. I try! I do. I do not think plants like me. I also have a hugh "rubbertree" plant in the corner of where the computer is. It has its good days and its bad days. It is by the slider to the back and it gets a nice amount of light. We have special food for it every month. We rotate it and still some days it looks so blah!
I guess I should stick to the gift of cooking and baking and leave the green thumbing to Normie...;)

It must stink to be color blind!

As you know the color blind trait is more common in the male than the female. When Stephen (13 yr old son) was 3 1/2 and in preschool the teacher at Private Progressive Preschool (ladeda) lol took me aside and said he was far to smart with all the other things in school but is not doing well with his colors. She like myself had the feeling he was colorblind. Well wouldn't you know at his well visit he looked at the green #5 and it did not POP out like it does gor others who are not colorblind. I guess he has compensated by looking at the words on the side of the crayons all his early elementary schooling. Then Ryan (11 yr old son) had the same issue with the "color" thing. He did not read as early as Stephen so we would help him with the words on the side of the crayons. SO in the car today on the way to the park it was so funny b/c on of the boys friends pointed out how bright green the trees were at the HS that were planted in May. He was surprised they did not die with all the heat. There were 2 other trees that were very brown and kind of on the outs. I wanted to see what MY boys see when they see the trees and the bright green ones are brown to them and the brown ones are black. Funny thing the van I mentioned in the last post we had was a beige/light brown and my sons always refer to it as the purple van we used to have????? PURPLE.......not brown PURPLE.........I know on the radio yesterday they were talking about colorblindness and Matty said that he had a freind that never saw pink in a correct way and had a gross kelly green suit and insisted it was brown.....Well thats my boys too. They are also confused with grays and the fall tones are the hardest for them to name. I feel bad b/c I would love to see through their eyes what they truly see..........I know colorblindness restrict you from flying for the US milatary and comercial flights so no airplane pilots here. No problem with me b/c I am not the fondest of airtravelers. So to my sons Stephen and Ryan, What color do you want your room painted the next time? PURPLE???lol I will be picking out thier clothes till they find a wonderful wife to take over the job................Love you two so much....Brown eyes and all..........

A day in the park!

Hoping to have fun at the park today with the boys and friends. I am looking forward to some kickball, it was always my favorite growing up. The bunch of them will be taking skates. I made a point to tell the other moms when I pick up PLEASE have them bring a helmet. I am a hugh enforcer of helmet wear. I really dislike seeing children young and old without them. The head is so easily hurt during a fall and it is worth protecting. Funny that I have had a sadan now for about 4 years. I used to drive a minivan because of the daycare children I had. I would not really choose the van option and 12 years ago the mulit passenger SUV did not exsist yet. This is one time where I wish I were with a seven passenger vehicle but not a VAN! lol .....SO I did have to limit one friend each. So off we go with hopes of no thunderstorms so they saw we are getting eventually. Have a fun in the sun kind of day and don't forget the SPF!

All the back-to-school sales......

As I read the Sunday Globe I could not help but notice all the sales flyers. I like to read the flyers every Sunday to see what I may need at a sale price. I have good intentions of running to 2 drugstores to get what the other does not have on sale. It doesn't always work that way. I was amazed to see so many "back-to-school" items on sale. Please, like the day after Halloween we see and hear Christmas things in the stores. It seemed like the day the children got out for the summer the "bts" sales started! Let us have a break, a small break without the need to buy the stuff and get ready for school again. I want to cherish the remaing few weeks left for summer vacation and think about not running to a sale for bts items but enjoying the summer time without shopping for stuff! So enjoy the rest of you fun filled summer days and keep in mind the stuff will always be there, the sales keep coming if not this week but 5 weeks from now!

A bear always puts a smile on your face!

Today was our last day of VBS. We had a really fun and educational time the past 9 days. A little hot at times but still lots of good times. Since Jack (post from yesterday) has a low tolerance of energy he was not able to be in VBS. He did come to the last day festivities. It was great to see his smile and positive love that he has always had since he was a little tike. Our class made him a special bear (build-a-bear) and it went over BIG! We got a "get well" flower in the bears hand and it had a pouch to fill so we filled it with coins from heaven........He is saving the coins to donate to the Childrens Hospital Cancer Unit...Is that so sweet or what? He even entertained us with a magic trick during snack. It was great to see him and I am so sad our 9 days have come to an end. Till next year.........we will see you then........

May God wrap you in his blanket of love and may you fly high on Eagals Wings...

Please go to www.jacksupino.blogspot.com .........This wonderful boy that has touched the hearts of the entire community of Middleton and beyond has the most infectious smile. He will touch your heart the moment you lay eyes on him. I have had the prevledge of knowing the Supino boys for atleast 6 years now from working at the school with their mom Kim. Adam the middle boy is in my VBS/Rel Ed class and he is a blessing to have in class. He is so considerite and loving to others. Always has a smile on his face and has the need to make you feel good. He has been a rock through his brothers recent diagnosis. Max, the oldest has also been great with all that the family has had to endure. I hear updates from Adam and the positive love and faith they have is what we all need. I want anyone who reads this post to keep Jack and his family in your prayers. Please say a special blessing for him to beat this Cancer and for all the children who are fighting this aweful illness. It is in the blanket of Gods love and on Eagals Wings when we find the comfort of Jesus. May you all find faith to live everyday with thanks and praise for His love.

Go Sox!!!!!!!

Well the boys are off to the sox game..........Michael got his yearly 4 tickets from the bank. Thanks EBSB. I am here and they are there. I have gone to two games as an adult and am not to into baseball. If it were the Bruins I would so be there. Action and fast passed entertainment is more to my liking, not to mention it is not hot and sticky at a hockey game. Also I get very anxious in the crowds especially on the way from the train station. Funny how the Disney or Universal crowds do not bother me as much, go figure. I hope they have lots of yummy treats while I am here with a tuna wrap. There is nothing like a "Fenway Frank" hot and steamy from the metal box at the park. Also a fresh bag of roasted peanuts are a real treat for the nose and tastebuds. Stay cool and watch out for those fly balls. GO SOXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!

The heat is on!!!

This is far from a complaint. The heat IS on today and Monday and Tuesday. In the greater Boston area the Mayor of Boston may call this a "heatwave". When 3 consecutive days are 90* or higher that is the way they make the call. A summer without a heatwave is just not summer in Boston. The hydrants are open by the fire dept. so that the inner-city children can run in their see through undies to get some relief. The inner-city pools are open later to keep the people cool. Most of all the city beaches are taxed to the max with beach goers to get the "ocean breeze" relief. I myself am not a happy beach goer. On Friday I did vow to family and friends that I would be going to the beach either in Salsbury Ma or Hampton NH. We are without beach chairs so a neighbor offered hers to us. I was "this close" to picking up the chairs yesterday on the way home from church when.......ring, ring.....the cell phone..."Oh you want us to come to the pool tommorow?"...Ok Vanessa we will go to your mothers pool tom for a bbq and a get together with some friends SURRRRRRRRRRRRRRE! Well here I am making fruit salad and cutting homemade blueberry bread to bring to a BBQ AT A POOL!!!!! Gotta love the pool! No sand in our food, no salt on the skin ...Where do I begin......I LOVE POOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I still will keep the vow to take atleast one maybe two family beach trips this summer .............or next .......hehehehehe lol I crack myself up! Have a great heatwave and splish splash the beautiful blue chlorine water of the pool!

Happy Birthday to NORMIE!!!!

Yup today is the big day 37!........Did you like my funny lol card? I tought it was a keeper lol!
The many summers we roamed together on the street of EB I most remmeber one birthday in particular. We had cupcakes on the back porch with really sweet and surypy fruit punch. That was the year I gave you a tube of balls....very tiny balls lol that had bath oil in them. I re-call the walk in Liberty/Osco and we were in the HBA area. You said you would like to take a bath with those. So I got them for a b-day gift. The tube has hard to wrap and quit an inexpensive gift to give a best friend but I am sure at 9 or ten you only get maybe a few bucks a month so it was a dent in the gum money lol. I also remember it was great to be able to have a b-day not in the snow like mine always was and thinking I should celebrate a 1/2 birthday from now on and forget about Feb. b/c it was too snowy. lol ....So to the person who helped pass the summer days away in the 70's and 80's and a few get togethers in the 90's, we had lots to do in the 90's lol ......I love you to pieces and BBF!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

The sun is back.....

Well yesterday after 1:00pm there were storms popin up all over the North Shore. It was far from fun. The sounds were like trains racing through the house. Ryan and I were huddled very close to eachother when the worst part came through. The town over from us was said to have had a mini-tournado like funnel cloud touch down. This is the town where when the rains hit it was total submerged under water in May. What is with this weather latley? It is somewhat weird to me because it feels like the stories I would hear from a family member in Florida...Well it seems like we are getting weather effects like that state does. We don't want it! Keep it down south. Or keep it in the ocean so it has not effect on anyplace. I guess science will prove that we have made a dent in the atmosphire and we as a planet are taxing on all that they predicted. I have made a vow to not be so A/C dependent and keep the electric on low. We do our part in the recycle thing but need to be aware of other little thing we could all do that will add up in a big way. So have a great non-stormy day.........

"The Ten Comandments"

As we all know a very important of the Ten Is "Do not covert your neighbors wife". It is not easy explaining this concept at VBS to a bunch of 4th almost 5th graders. It is even harder when one of the students in your class is going through family troubles because the mother, after 14 years of a wonderful marriage is shacking up with a younger man ...not her loving husband. How awkward is this topic to the group of 1o almost 11 years olds? It is not a happy thing to have to hear of your friends bad choices or accept her actions. So to put it blunt long gone days of "Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible loves me so"///// Deeper and deeper we go the older we get.......Heaven help me!

Bloggers on the news!!!!!!!!!

I just watched a segment about Blogs....The women who created "Web Log" turn "Blog" was being interviewd on CBS (4). I found it interesting what they had to say. Did any fellow bloggers see it? It was fun to see the broad spectrum of what people blog about. I have surfed to see others than the circle Normie "stated" and it is a bit mundane but a little funny to read into the lives of others. Without Normie as the starter we would of not been introed into BLOG WORLD! So thanks for reading and commenting. Even if you read without a comment it is still fun to read and blog away the day........(Not the entire day, because then you will not have much of a life) lol lol lol .........Happy Blogin'

Gotta love the pool!!!!!!!!!!!

Any of you who know me I AM A FISH! I love, love , love to swim all day long when at a POOL!
I grew up 3 1/2 blocks from the ocean and was never fond of it as I should of been. I guess the sand was icky to me even back then. I was made to go EVERY good day as a child. We would walk there because it was soooo close to us. We would pass a friends house who was 50 feet from the beach right before you had to cross to get to the beach, they had a pool......Well It was a good day when we were asked to join them for a bit on our walk to the beach for the day. We would end up staying the day. I would swim the entire time less a bathroom break. I even recall passing up food to stay in the pool. Yes I passed up eating. Not to fear I made up for it later lol ...SO I guess the pool was my first choice then and it is now. For five years we were Pool Members at the tennis/sport center two door down from our house. I was told by one of the brothers who owned the complex who logs your comings and goings we are the members with the most pool side hours.lol ...........We would go from 11am to 7pm open till close, leave for a quick dinner or eat there, meet the husband after he worked and claim the best seats in the house near the deep end where all the OLDER kids were and far from the kiddie pool because there were no more kiddies in this party. Well this is the first year we did not sign up. We got 3 phone reminders from the front desk and a friendly (unmailed) note from them. They must of drove by and put it in the mailbox to save 37 cents. Well I think the boys have outgrown the place because there are tons of lil kids and alot of the bigger ones families feel the same way so every year less and less pre=teens/teens sign up as members. My older son plans on being a gaurd there when he is of age even though all the gaurds in previous years state he is an A HOLE to work for, so we will see. The best thing was the gaurds liked to talk to me because I was not one of those snob members that looked down at them for doing the "Labor" type job. This town has a population of many people like that. We have @9,000 in the town and 8,990 are snobs lol lol no a little less...hehhehehe SO I do indeed miss being able to at a drop of a hat "Go to the POOL".......We wait for invites from friends and relatives to enjoy a swim. I did get to swim for a good part of the day today at a friends down the street. We were original members of the pool but she felt is easier with 4 kids to get a pool. SO to make a long story even longer lol .......I LOVE SWIMMING>>>>>>I WANT A POOL>>>>>I know they are a ton of work unless you have the cash to pay a pool boy........I guess my boys would be the "Poolboys" if we ever get one........So to all you non-ocean swimmers out there........GO POOLS!!!! Swimming Rocks....lol Have fun in the sun till' a quarter ta' one.........
