St. Judes Walk

Yesterday it was a great walk for the hospital that I first heard about when I was about 6 years old. I recall my Papa Steve telling me about the place and how he loved Danny Thomas the hospitals founder. It is funny how you recall lil bits of when you were lil. We walked and got to write who we were grateful for that has been involved with any kind of cancer and I write TJ. A lil boy who I met 9 years ago. He was on my bus and in a class I was an aide for. He is the ultimate fighter. This boy has had his highs and lows since being diagnosed 10 years ago. He is now 11. Yes since he was about 18 months old he has lived with his inoperable tumors. He gets frequent treatment in Boston and is a star on his hockey team despite his frequent bouts with fatigue. He luvs life, luvs his new puppy...his last dog got hit by a car and he was so sad about that. He just has this omph to live life to the fullest. Once about 4 years ago when he was not doing well I signed up to make a meal for the family who were finding it really hard goin back and forth to Boston and he said it was the best baked ziti and meatballs ever. It was great to be able to make him food and bring a bear for him. I so appreciate that his family is so grateful to the community for every lil thing they do. We just want to make it as easy as possible for them. So to TJ......your zest and fight are an inspration xoxoxo God Bless you TJ
