Feb. Vacation

I always tought it best to have a March break. Get rid of Feb and April and do a March and get out of school one week early in June. I must say in the cold I am glad to not have to get out early and drive to school or work so I maybe worng in the last sentence. I know Florida does this but also they get out in May and go back in August. So what do you all think. Can the winter/spring breaks and put one in the middle of the two? Enjoy you break if you have one...they fly by so enjoy what you can of it........

Hey, we don't get feb. break, but we're done in may(private school) and 1st week in June(public school) and go back last week in August-Which is no big deal because its sooo hot we're ready for the kids to go back to school, instaed of sitting around in the a/c looking for something to do

Yes, I think having Feb. vaca a month after xmas vaca is silly...and then having another week off a month and half later is also silly. I agree that a week off in March and getting out earlier in June (or returning the first day of school to AFTER labor day instead of the last week of August) would be better.

when i went to catholic school we got out in the beginning of June and went back in the second week of September and we had every Catholic Holiday off...including all Saints Day and the day after Easter, Good Friday and a half day on Holy Thursday! i wonder if they still do it that way?

I'll go out on a limb and say I like it the way it is.... especially with all the running around I do, anytime is a good time for a break!

Actually I truly wish we had year round school... 3 months on, 3 weeks off or something like that... that way the kids aren't bored stiff and losing their skills over the long summer... and it gives the parents different times of year to go on vacations, etc. I'm all for it!

I also went to Catholic HS. (all boys by te way!) and we got out waaay earlier than the PS' did.
But as a parent, I just hate the idea of sending the kids back b4 Labor Day. It ain't right I tell ya!
