I Love Flowers........

I wish I could have a green thumb. I found this picture and wish I could do this to our oh so very wet backyard. My favorite flower is the Tulip (just in case you have the urge to send me flowers) lol ........I love any color tulip but liliac or purple are my choice ones. For 5 years now I have had a vase on the breakfast bar with silk ones and every time people come over they say how real they look. I dust them often to make them "last" lol ..........I think it would be a treat to have real tulips on the counter every week. Just about 2 dozen is all I ask. There may come a day when money is not an object and that indulgence may come to pass. Until then I have the pretty silk ones that can pass for real for a while.............

That's a beautiful photo! I love tulips too, its too bad the season for them is so short. I have a funny tulip story.

When I was first married, my Mom and I went and bought a bunch of tulips cheap at the end of the season and planted them along the driveway at my first house. (She's got a GREEN thumb.. mine is brown) They actually came up the next year too, red, yellow, purple.. so pretty. I came home from work one day and found that someone had taken a scissors and snipped the tops off of every single one! Imagine!!! I knew it was the little girl next door or her weird little friend. I said something to the Mom who told me that the little girl doesn't listen to her and that I should talk to her myself, because maybe she would listen to me (IMAGINE!!!) So I did speak to her (very cute little girl) and found out that it was her weird friend who was like 3 years older than her.. and I explained that they are there to look at and enjoy and she shouldn't touch them.. She grew up and is now in Nursing School and a really good kid, I'm glad I don't hold a grudge!

I can't believe the mom told you to talk to her!
I love growing everything. When I hit the lotto, I'm going to build a greenhouse in the backyard so I can start me seedlings early. Right now I'm trying to grow a Lotus for my pond. The cool thing about the Lotus is that the seeds stay viable forever...or seemingly forever. There have been storys of seeds that were gathered a couple of hundered years and passed down through generations and still would germanate. Is that how you spell germanate? Anyway, I got these seeds a few years ago on eBay. From what I've read, you score them with a knife, then put them in water. My container of choice will be a wonton soup container. I'll document it in digital glory and share the pics if things work out. Have a good weekend guys.
