It's Monday AGAIN!

Like I am reporting anything you don't already know. I am sure you realize what day it is. Just wanted to throw it out there that Monday is here the start of yet another week. Hope your day flies by and hump day comes fast, after hump day it should be all down hill. The Holidays are fast approching because the hours, days and weeks just swoosh on by. In preperation for the upcoming "food fest" we call Thanksgiving Michael and I were on a three day Fiber Fast this long weekend, I am happy to report it was very sucessful. He and I ate only steamed or non cooked veggie with steel cut oats (they were not as good as regular oatmeat) and 2 sevings of fruit a day and tons of H2O w/lime/lemon or apple cider vingar. What a treat. I am glad we are back to other foods today, but we are making really good choices of healthy foods. (thats the plan) I will tell you this my energy level was through the roof and my skin is so smooth. I have a friend who does this every 4 weeks and she says it is great for your digestive system to clean out and start over. I really want ot do this a few more days but was told by her that three days is the most efective and then continue to eat based on the Pericone way. I am sure you have heard of that guy. He can be googled. SO that is my update for the start of a fresh cleaned out new week...........Off to the gray dreary hum hum of a Monday........and to a bowl of REAL oatmeal....not that steel cut chewey stuff............

Nancy and I had so much popcorn this weekend...and cake and italian bread etc. So after my piece of cake last night, I announced that I will have no more junk for the next few weeks. Because when I bend down to pick something up off the floor...I can feel my stomach getting in the way. Blah!

This is what I need to do! My Mom does this all the time and always feels great. I've been so sluggish lately, always tired no matter how much I sleep and had one of the worst migraines ever yesterday!!! I will have to google that guy... sounds like a good plan.

My brother has not eaten meat in 2 months. He is just giving his body a break. I have to say he looks great and he is the biggest meat and potatoes guy I know.

Mel they are Quaker Steel Cut Oats...they were expensive as all healthy food is.....4.99 for a 24 oz container.....I made it w/hot water and loads of cinnamon to add flavor no sug or syrup. Was really chewy. We are back to the Bear Naked Oats...Love them...I guess if the oats are cut not rolled you get more fiba....my next batch of cookies I will use these as a sub for some of the flour though I do need sugar for the cookies b/c splena makes fro a really thin floppy cookie......been there done that.....
Karen wow he is going a long time w/out meat......I am dying for a nice well done piece of beef, we are holding off from those meats and just doing chicken/turkey or tuna.......in the can b/c I HATE FISH......I know it is still fish but white tuna in the can is differnt. I put it w/apple cidar vinagar and salad....

sounds like my kind of diet...lol...i'm serious!

i've been a vegetarian for over 2 years now and i'll never go back.

i'm healthier than ever and my mind is much more clear.

what started me off was a cleanse...the master cleanser...for 5 days all i consumed was water with lemon juice, maple syrup and cayan pepper. I lost 12 pounds in 5 days and never ate meat again. I was suppose to go 10 days but got bored...lol

I am ROTFLMAO!!! That last one just hit me too funny, steph? Cuz I was thinking the same thing!

Jess, I didn't know that was how you started being a veggie girl! Cuckoo!

I've been eating the expensive organic oats every day for breakfast for a few years now. My cholesterol is great :) I put in cinnamon and berries and a bit of maple syrup. If I gave up meat, I wouldn't know how to cook. We had fish tonight (Bourbon salmon for Bill and I) and haddock for the boys. I crush up goldfish or cheezits or whatever is in the house, pour it over the fish, drizzle with butter and lemon juice and bake it. They love their Cheezit fish!

melissa, lol...yes it was all in the water!

steph, i'll only eat fish if that's the ONLY option.

auntie k, cooking without meat is so easy! i still eat cheese.

ABW
Ok, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around this-water w/ lemon, cayanne pepper, syrup
WEREN"T YOU STARVING????????/
I think I'd pass out-
Although, the 12 lb weight loss sounds VERY appealing!!!!!!!!

lol, i wasn't starving at all...the first day is hard because you want food....however there are tons of nutrients and calories in the drink and you drink it all day long, as much as you can....

be careful of major "explosions"...lol....

actually in the mornings (so i could leave the house without the fear of having an explosion elsewhere) i would chug a liter of salt water....20 minutes later you're completely empty.

i know people who do this cleanse twice a year, one of my teachers does it for 40 days!
