Rest in Peace Capt. Rick Cashin

It was sad watching the news last night to hear of a State Trooper from the Danver station was killed on Rt 1 in Saugus. Two men came to mind and it sent chills down my spine thinking of these two men and the familes. Well my premis was correct., I am deeply hurt to say, this man was one of the two that came to mind. Ryan had him two years ago as a Lacross Ast. Coach. He had lots of passion for the kids and the sport. He treated them fairly and if you wern't so good at it he took the time to show you the way. Ryan goes to school with his son and the other sons is Stephens age. He has two older daughters also in their late 20's. He put a lot of time, effort and love into his community and it is truely a tragic loss for not only his family but the Tri-town too. Please take a moment in your hearts for him and the others he left behind, tonight at dinner we did. Rest in Peace Capt. Cashin.

This is always sad news. My prayers to his family & loved ones.
Not so long ago I read a book by a woman named Kate Braestrup called 'Here if you need me", her husband too was a state trooper who died in a car accident. They too had 4 children. Maybe you could send it to his wife.
Your so kind to say a prayer at the dinner table. love you

Awwww...Stephie...this was a sad enough story to anyone watching the news...but to have known him personally and have that closeness to the loss -- and to have to shock of hearing about it from TV -- is so much worse. How are S and R handling it?

Ryan said that when he was not doing good with "cradling" the Lax ball in the net Coach Cashin told him he would get better if he did three things., he said he always thinks of the three things that he was told when he cradles the ball so in a way this mans words/help has made an impact on him. He is sad for the kid in his class b/c he will now have no father. I am sure that the Lax dads will so take care of the Cashin boys b/c Coach took all those kids under his wing. It is so sad.....

Grace and peace be yours in abundance
through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
His divine power has given us everything we need
for life and godliness through our knowledge of him
who called us by his own glory and goodness.
