Wasn't it the best!! I had all my windows open, sat out for a bit and read my book, took the boys for a bike ride down to the park to play basketball.. Tell me again why I live in a place that has winter when this is SO what I love best!!!!

70's here on LI. We're right on the South Shore so it usually gets chilly this time of year once the wind comes off the water late in the afternoons. I think the water's only in the 50's now. We appreciate the sea breeze in the dog days of August. We almost never use the air conditioning. (I think one day last summer)

Stephie, I think I was pregant that same year with Billy and wasnt' due til August. I had a really hot house and was still going in to Boston to work everyday. I remember one day when it was about 98 and Bill was going to take me to the movies and his old crazy Aunt and Uncle parked in our driveway blocking us in thinking that our house was my father-in-laws. Well, he did something to his car and couldn't get it started and I started to cry because I wanted air conditioned movies. That was the only time (up to that time) that my mother in law saw me "lose it"!

auntie, that is a funny story about your pregnant hormones....lol....did you end up going to the movies at all?? did you take guy and char's car?

Karen said...

Jess, they actually finally moved the car.. and the story goes on. I thought we were seeing the sequal to Leaving Los Vegas (with Sarah Jessica parker) but we actually saw this horrible depressing film with Nicholas CAge and Elizabeth Shue about an alcoholic in LA. I cried the whole way home. I was totally hormonal and I think due any day... It was bad. I still hate that stupid movie and she won an Oscar for it.

I cried at that movie and I wasn't even hormonal. But seriously folks..that movie was depressing. Personally, I don't "get" Nicholas Cage. What's the deal with that>?

Karen said...

Nicholas Cage has plastic surgery and looks like a freak.

i agree Nicholas Cage is a serious freak.......he's only good for dumb movies like "raising arizona"....so bad!
