I hope this link works. I swear it is really disapointing ot me that this could happen in school. Positive reinforcemnet is so nessesary for any kid, special needs or not. How dare a teacher subject a kid to this. Also having the other kids take part in it. I worked with 2 spicific autistic boys when I was at the school as an Aide. No matter how frustrated (being kicked/hit/yelled at) I would never have oustersized (sp?) a child like that. It makes me sick! I am sure that a teacher of many years like this women was should know how to help a childs ego not stomp on it infront of the other classmates. I am surprised that she does not know the difference between autistic behavior and a "behavior" problem. You can only hope that the class will be told that what was done was not correct, I see that they are 5 years olds but come on something has to be said to them to let them know you don't "vote" out students and it is not acceptable. This poor kid and all the kids in the class. Be greatful for the "great" teachers out there, the one who care and love what they do. It is not easy doing that job and kudos to the ones who love to do it........

I saw this on the news a few days ago and couldn't believe it. They really do need to explain to the other kids that this situation should have never been handled that way. It's such a shame. I hope the little boy will be able to forget about it.. but that will be a tough one!!
i wanted to see what the school could even possibly say after that!! How dare that teacher and that school. What kind of lesson are we teaching kids here? That bullying and name calling is ok? It is never ok. Not for kids and not for adults. It doesnt kill people to be nice to one another, all the time. Especially the children. How about we grow up and set a proper example for these kids. I hope this teacher doesnt have any of her own. I pity her and her bad decisions and thoughtlessness. I swear im home schooling!! lol. Children are so important. I really hope that the kids of the class will now be taught how wrong it is to treat someone, anyone so poorly. I think that parents of the class should all get together and refuse to send thier kids back to her!! ugh im thouroughly disgusted! -me ;)
I know just sickens me. I HATE when kids are talked to badly and recall some harsh things I was said as a kid from an adult and that stuff sticks. I do hope that boy does not keep that in his young memory....
